A JOURNEY BY TRAIN

Journey by train isn’t comfortable today because of heavy rush of passengers. It is pleasure to the person who travels in the first class. I’m fond of travelling from one place to another to see new places and new things. The intensity of my pleasure of travelling increases if it is train journey although this journey is now beset with problems. It is very interesting and sweet to recollect my last journey from Dhaka to Chittagong. Its memory is still fresh in my mind.

During the last Ramadan holiday, my uncle invited me to pay a visit to his residence at ashugonj in the district of comilla. My parents permitted me to go there.

Before describing my journey by train I like to mention my preparation for the journey. For undertaking the journey the day was fine. All arrangement was made without delay. I did everything exuberantly. But collection of money was very tough to me. In this way I prepared myself for undertaking the journey by train.

At about 9 a.m. I reached the kamalapur station. The station was full of passengers. I booked a ticket and got into the first class compartment which was almost packed up with passengers. I got a seat by the window. At 9.30 a.m. the train steamed off the station. At first, train moved on slowly. But after a few minutes in began moving at a great speed. It was an express train.

As  the train took on speed, everything seemed to move in the opposite direction, cool breeze was refreshing the passengers. I looked outside, I saw green field, forests, bushes, canals, bridges, cattke, men house etc. they come to my view and vanished in the twinkle of an eye. They looked like the photos of a film. All these things were beautiful and joyful. The train passed station after station. I could not exactly remember when I fell asleep. Then l woke up and took tea.

The train reached ashuganj at 11.30 a.m. I found my uncle awaiting for me. He received me very affectionately. We went to my uncle’s residence by rickshaw.

Everybody should enjoy the train journey if he finds time. It is trilling and enjoyable. It gives us a clear picture of the land its natural beauty around us.
