our home land

We are live in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is our homeland. She became an independent state in the year 1971.

Bangladesh is surrounded on the west. North and east by Indian territories. She borders on Burma on the south-east. To the south lies the Bay of Bengal. The area of Bangladesh is 55,598 square miles. She has a population of 130 millions. Bangladesh is the eight largest populated states in the world. Bangladesh has a network of rivers and canals. The rivers and canals are full of fish. Her rivers irrigate and fertilize land.

The land of Bangladesh is very fertile. She produces abundant rice and jute. Rice is our staple food and jute is golden fiber of the country. Jute brings us a lot of money from foreign countries. Hilly slopes of sylhet and Chittagong produce tea, tobacco, sugarcane, linseeds and many other crops. We find sweet mangoes, bananas pineapples jackfruits, coconuts etc. in many districts of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is and agricultural country. BUT The production is not so much as in other countries. Sometime crops fail due to floods, cyclones and droughts. Bangladesh produces huge quantities of raw-materials for some big industries. There are hydro-electricity cheap and readymade markets.

Our country has a glorious past. Her people are peace-loving. The people of Bangladesh are freedom living. In Bangladesh. There are many places which are the seats of ancient civilization. Places like paharur and mainamati and many other historical monuments and relics gibe evidence of our glorious past and rich culture.

Bangladesh has been a sovereign state since December 16, 1971. We have great love for our homeland. We have many problems. Yet we shall serve our motherland, work for her and love her.
