TRAFFIC JAM

Traffic jam is a common problem in the big cities and towns. It is one of the major problems of modern time. As the day progresses it becomes a larger problem. Lives of the general people become ceaseless and totally motionless sometimes when the jam occurs.

Traffic means the vehicles that play on the roads or in other words, traffic is the means of communication. Jam means the gathering of the transport vehicles. Traffic jam is a kind of situation when all the vehicles stand still and become motionless.

Traffic jam is very common affair in Bangladesh. There is no city in Bangladesh where traffic jam is absent. Everyday people go out for work and face this problem.

There are many causes for traffic jam. The causes are narrated below:

There are some traffic laws in Bangladesh. Those who know do not obey them. Some people don’t pay respect to the traffic law and do whatever they like. It is a great cause for the traffic jam.

The road and town planning of the big cities in Bangladesh are unreasonable. The roads are narrow and the number of transport vehicles is large. So the roads and streets have to bear a heavy load of vehicles. Sometime it happens that the jam is so heavy that is blocks half a kilometer.

Traffic police control the traffic in the roads. But sometimes they do not have the attention to control the jam. But they are busy to collect bribe from the drivers. This also a great cause of traffic jam.

Traffic jam is a matter of great regret that even today we suffer miserably for this sort of problem:

Hours after hour’s people have to wait for the jam to be finished. Students cannot reach their institution in time and office workers reach offices late.

Emergency works like medical and other helpful works are delayed for traffic jam. It causes great sufferings to the ambulance carrying dying patients and the fire brigade vehicles. Many valuable lives are lost in this way.

Firstly we have to develop our police department and the number of police must be increased. We also assure that the police department should be much disciplined. Secondly we have to make the drivers obey the traffic rules by applying then strictly.

We are going to welcome a new century. But such a problem like traffic jam is really something that  is quit unbelievable in this era of science and technology.
