A JOURNEY BY BOAT

Bangladesh is a land of rivers. So it is very easy to enjoy a journey by boat here. Journey by boat is very interesting.
During the last autumn vacation my father asked me to go to my sister’s house at sonargaon 20 miles away from our house. So I got a chance to make a journey by boat.

We hired a fine boat. We started our journey from Homna gahat at 10 am. There were two boatmen.
The sky was clear. The river was calm and full to the brim. At first the boatman plied the boat with oars. When the wind was favorable, then they set sail. Soon the boat began to move fast.
We enjoyed the scenery of the river. Fishermen were catching fish in the river. Boys and girls were swimming. Women were going home with jars filled with water. There were green fields on both sides of the river. Cattle were grazing there.

Journey by train isn’t comfortable today because of heavy rush of passengers. It is pleasure to the person who travels in the first class. I’m fond of travelling from one place to another to see new places and new things. The intensity of my pleasure of travelling increases if it is train journey although this journey is now beset with problems. It is very interesting and sweet to recollect my last journey from Dhaka to Chittagong. Its memory is still fresh in my mind.

During the last Ramadan holiday, my uncle invited me to pay a visit to his residence at ashugonj in the district of comilla. My parents permitted me to go there.

A man without an aim is like a ship without a rudder. He cannot succeed In life without it. A fixed aim helps a man to succeed in life.

Different men have different aims. Some want to be high officials or scholars or poets etc. someone wants to be a doctor or a teacher.

OUR DAILY LIFE

One’s daily life Is more less a matter of routine. Changes occur when there is a holiday, a festival or an accident. Beyond these, one day is like another. Perhaps it is good that it is not otherwise, for routine gives our life discipline and saves our time. However at different hours of the day one has to do different things within the routine.

However everyone has a daily routine of work. I am a student. So I have also a routine. I do my daily works according to this routine.

VILLAGE DOCTOR

Our villages are not like the towns. Nor is a village doctor like his town colleagues. They may have the some qualifications obtained from the same constitution, but the very nature of their works. The people they treat and the environment in which they work make the village doctor very different from those who practice in towns.

A village doctor is a private practitioner. There are Government doctors in the Thana health complexes who cannot be called village  doctors, because they are like other Government officers who live in the country because they have posted there. A village doctor has chosen to be in the village. He live there like an inhabitant. You can call him a villager. HE has no hospital, he has examines his patient in his own chamber, and visits them when required to do so.

A teacher

The teacher is an important person in the society. He brings the illiterate mass to light. He is a nation builder. He is the backbone of the society today. The prosperity, glory and fame of the nation fully depend on his student’s proper training to become a real man in future.  Hence his service in the society very great.

Every profession requires some qualification. In our lbtedayi Madrasah deals with child psychology. So they need not higher qualifications. Dakhil or alim with training is sufficient to perform their respective duties. But in dakhil madrasah there is adult psychology. So the teachers should be at least Fazil degree with training. But there are lots of Kamil degree holders in senior madrasah. So qualification is not all in this service but the capacity of teaching is his main qualification.
